Q1: What is Net-Metering?
With net metering, excess electricity is fed into your electric utility’s grid when your system is producing more than you need. The excess produces units can be fed to WAPDA and can be used in either the next month cycle or the amount will be credited in your bills.
Q2: Is Solar heating reliable alternative to Natural gas or other Fuels?
Solar should not be seen as an alternative to gas or other fuels, but rather a supplement. Solar cannot totally replace the need for gas and other fuels as there are sometimes days when there is little sunlight. When averaged over a year, a correctly sized solar system can provide 60%-70% of an industry’s hot water needs. The hot water system can easily be made hybrid with other fuel inputs so hot water is guaranteed regardless of sunlight levels.
Q3: How long would it take to recover my investment?
SRE provides more affordable customized solutions to industries. The payback depends upon some factors, which influence the output of solar system i.e. depends on your location (solar levels), current hot water usage, and type of fuel used, current prices, annual fuel saving etc. You will definitely make considerable savings during the life of the solar hot water system. Looking at the increasing electricity rates in the country, the payback of a Solar system is reduced to no more than 4 years now.
Q4: What is the life of this system? How would the efficiency of the system change over time?
Life of the system is lifetime. For the first 10 years, the efficiency drop will be minimal. Total efficiency drop in 15 years will be 11%. After 25 years, the panels will still be working at 80% efficiency.
Q5: How do I calculate the size of the system I require?
It will be according to your electricity requirement or hot water needs. For further details, contact us on info@sre.com.pk or 0300-8453973.
Q6: What happens when weather is cloudy?
Although the heat output of the solar collector is reduced on overcast days, it will still be able to provide significant heating. If there are heavy clouds, fog or rain, then the alternate source is used which is already in sync with the Solar system.
Q7: How often is the maintenance required?
This system is almost maintenance free. Occasional washing of solar panels is required to attain the maximum efficiency possible.
Q8: Do you provide after sale services?
Yes we provide aftersales service and it is dependent upon the contract.
Q9: What are the maximum and minimum environment conditions before the equipment is damaged?
The system is designed for a minimum temperature of minus 10°C and it can bear a stagnation temperature of 272°C. The system is resistant to a hailstone of 25mm.
Q10: Can I use the thermal system with my existing hot water system?
As this system is hybrid, retrofit valves can often be used to allow solar to connect to your existing cold-water inlet. If your tank cannot accept the solar input directly, an additional storage tank can be installed to pre-heat the cold water prior to entering the existing tank.
Q11: Do you provide guarantees with the system installation?
Yes. Warranty is provided on local components and imported components except heat exchangers and pumps. Heat exchanger and pumps warranty is according to the manufacturer.
Q12: Can I heat my swimming pool or spa using this system?
Yes non-pressurized evacuated tube collectors can be used to heat swimming pool.
